Col Bill Davis is the Commandant of the New Orleans Military and Maritime Academy (NOMMA). Opened in 2011, NOMMA is a Type 2 Charter High School serving the entire New Orleans Metropolitan area. All students of NOMMA are Cadets of the MCJROTC Program and are focused on college preparation with an emphasis on science technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Col Davis retired in 2011 after 24 years in the Marine Corps. His last 5 years were spent as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Facilities at Marine Forces Reserve where he oversaw over $1 billion in construction and other facility projects across the country. He was the lead Marine Corps negotiator for the Federal City and Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters project. Col Davis has served tours as a staff officer at Headquarters Marine Corps, Marine Corps Systems Command, and Marine Forces Reserve. He is a combat veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He also spent 2 years on joint duty involving international and domestic response to weapons of mass destruction. Col Davis and his wife Brenda reside at Federal City. They have two sons, Matt is a Promotions Producer at WWL-TV and Brad is a senior at Southeastern Louisiana University.
